I have a laptop which I sometimes connect to a separate 24'' Dell monitor, especially when I'm editing photos. Would love to hear some views from those who have experience of calibrating their monitors with any of the above (or anything else).Īnother quick question for anyone familiar with the Spyder 4. Recently I've bought a Dell 24-inch monitor, now hooked up to one of my laptops, and am intending to use this for photo editing. I use a couple of laptops which I've attempted to calibrate using built-in windows calibration, however I suspect with only limited success. There are some open-source and reportedly very good alternative programs (eg, Argyle), although I'm not entirely sure if they can be used with the above hardware. However the software in the more expensive versions offers more options. In both the above, I think the actual hardware part is similar if not identical across the various versions. Spyder 4 comes in three versions, the basic one, the 'pro' one and the 'elite' one. I'm trying to decide between Spyder 4 and the Xrite calibration tools, but not sure what to get.
